Corn is a grain that is derived from a native North American plant called maize. Corn is grown for food, and has recently been used to make boifuel, or more specifically ethanol and biodeisel. Corn grows on a stalk, and the food part grows on a cob inside a husk. To be used as food, corn must be removed from the husk and cob. Modern farm equipment does this process in the field, and leaves behind the unused vegetable matter as waste.
